  • What is going on? First I tyoe an entry and xanga highlights it all without being asked to. Then I try to fix it and it tells me I can't use the editor. Then it asks me to switch to plain text and erases my entry. I'm starting to remember why xanga annoys me...

(Oh, and now the old entry is back too...?!?!)

  • Fellow etsy sellers...

What is going on over there? Is it me, or has the entire site slowed to a crawl lately? Views, faves, sales...it's like a great void this past month. I used to get my shop faved at least once a week; usually many more; I don't think anyone has looked at the place for 3 weeks or so. I checked the forums (blergh--hate having to go to them) and saw several threads complaining about the same...what's up?!

(Oh, goody--xanga has taken to highlighting text without being asked to again...some days I hate the world... :p )

  • Wow! OK--I really, really am trying to get a schedule going. I'm so messed up with xanga! I wasn't even gettng my subscription digest for awhile for some reason...

I will get a schedule, I will get a schedule...

So, anyway...I'm in a Blythe Flickr group (well, I'm in gazillions, but anyway...), and the theme this week was Michael Jackson...so I'll repost what I did over there, over here...

And next week I will write myself a schedule and try to catch up with everyone here!

    WAW: Remembering Michael with Love!

Roisin Gladys: Hi, everyone! Ever since Michael Jackson died, Mom has been reminiscing about her youth. She's told us about when she was in kindergarten and Michael was on "Free to be You & Me" (sounds like some funny hippie show to us!). She remembers the Jackson 5 show on TV, too!

She remembers skating to all of Michael Jackson's songs when she was a roller rink diva in junior high! Even tho she was already a rockabilly punkette at that time, she had to admit that Michael had some good songs...

She also remembers running home from school when she was a freshman to watch the MTV premiere of "Thriller," and she remembers watching the Apollo TV special where Michael first moonwalked. Wow!

So, Mom says that no matter what kind of music you like, you have to admit that Michael Jackson made pop music fun, and he was a great and amazingly talented performer.

In honor of Michael, I borrowed one of Mom's white socks to wear as a dress (she says he always wore white socks so you would watch his feet when he danced!). I'm also wearing one of my stock gloves on my left hand, and my little chimp friend wanted to pose, too.

All of us girls--big girls and petites--send our love to you, Michael, and we hope you have found peace.

  • Remember way back when--I said I might have some exciting news...

    A fun story... (163/365)

Today, UPS delivered a box, from Elle magazine (USA edition), with 2 of my Russian doll necklaces! Why, you may wonder?
Well, they asked me a few months back to send them for a feature on Russian dolls in fashion. Now, I still don't know if they made it into the magazine (I know they haven't as of the June issue, but there also hasn't been a Russian doll feature yet!). So, I'll be excited to find out!
It's funny, too...about 3 weeks ago I received another UPS package from Elle, filled with Russian doll rings and earrings by another artists (denimdays --very nice pieces!). Not only were they not mine, but she lives in Australia! But I sent hers on and she's gotten them back today, too.  And she was kind enough to let me keep a ring! Yay!
So here's hoping we both got into Elle magazine!
(Red necklace is available now; pink and blue one available soon!)

(I know I haven't blogged in ages--I'm trying, really trying to set up a weekly schedule...I am shamefully behind everywhere on the internet except Flickr!!!!!!)

  • Hmmmmmm...so, today I decided to open a shop at Folksy.com : http://folksy.com/shops/bebopgirl1969jewelry . I'm not really sold on it with my first listing, tho. I have cropped my photos down to the size it lists and it is *still* cropping them. Anyone have a shop on there, or any experience with it? If so, have any photo hints? It doesn't seem to let you click for a full view, a la etsy, so I'm just left with partial photos of my necklace. Not great.
