@bebopgirl1969 - Thanks for the recommendation--haven't seen that one, but I just put that one at the top of my queue.

@bebopgirl1969 - GAH! I am scatterbrained today...I meant Beauty and the Beast! Ha-ha!

  • bebopgirl1969

@allthingsbarbara - Those would be nice to see! I've seen Sleeping Beauty, and remember just loving it. :)

@bebopgirl1969 - Hi, Elizabeth!  Ha, ha, I didn't even realize there was a chat feature until I discovered it on your site!  It's a wonder I find my way around the internet.  Anyway, SO true about Basquiat.  That's one film I wouldn't mind owning.  I should rent it again.  Thank goodness for Netflix!

I just rented the three-disc series, Jean Cocteau's Orphic Trilogy, which includes his three Orpheus films, an autobiographical film, director's thoughts, etc.  It's quite amazing--talk about putting yourself back in time. . . to Greek myth of course, but also to the early 20th-c. days of Cocteau, Picasso, Diaghilev (you probably remember Cocteau designed his stage sets).  The autobiog. is lovely.  I've watched the first two discs and plan to watch the third today or tomorrow.&nbs

@allthingsbarbara - Hey! I'm sorry I didn't reply earlier--I always forget about this chat feature for some reason! Wow--we do have a lot in common! :)

Oh, how I love Basquiat--it's so magical, and I never fail to cry during the scene when he learns that Warhol has died--it's very moving. The acting and the cinematography and everything just really come together in that movie to capture a period of time...

TV is filled with reality shows here too...and because they can get away with more (nudity, etc.) they tend to be realllllllly over the top and quite a sad comment on society at times...!!

oh, yes, basquiat.  love that movie.  would love to have met him.  or just seen him walking by.

ah, just looked at your profile!  lots more in common. . . was a french major in college, then got an MA in english, spent jr. yr. in paris (my favorite city), amnesty intl. is one of my favorite causes. . . it's not by accident that we click.  will have to look more.  yes, the daily show & west wing, and i usually can't think of other tv shows other than law & order because there's really so little to watch and i wish they'd do away with those awful reality shows & get back to some good scripts.  don't get me started.  :)

Hi! Nice to meet you! You definitely need a visa when you come to stay permanently--but you'll be OK for 10 days. I only got mine when I got married and came to stay (got mine through the embassy in Chicago--just find your local one when you actually move). I applied and got it in one afternoon--very quick and easy. As for moving stuff--I mailed lots of stuff freight--saved a lot of money that way. I met Jim through the internet too--on a message board--not a dating site either--how funny that two Americans would end up over here that way (I mean, Forres isn't that huge, as you know!). :) Jim's actually on vacation right now so I probably won't be online for any amount of time until Thursday--but please keep in touch, and let me know if you have any questions--I'll try to think of anymore important moving stuff I wish I'd known in the meantime!:) My e-mail is Bebopgirl1969@aol.com--glad to talk that way too (I'll add your addy to my list!). Elizabeth

Hello Elizabeth. My name is Kim. I currently live in Georgia but I am planning to move to Forres to be with my sweetheart in the not too distant future. I met Dale on the internet, playing a game - not a dating site. He is the love of my life and I cannot wait to move there, too. It is a beautiful town. I was just there this past weekend and I will be back in November for 10 wonderful days. I was wondering if you could tell me any pointers to help in my moving process - such as getting a visa or anything that you thing I would find useful. My email address is kmclarty68@yahoo.com.
